Orzeszki drażetki are a very popular type of drops in Poland. These are peanuts covered with wafer mass and dark chocolate. They’re eaten as a snack, especially by children at schools (but also by adults who like to recollect their school-years!).

Wuzetka is a cocoa sponge cake filled with a tick layer of whipped cream and a touch of rose jam. It’s served at the majority of confectioneries and cafés in Poland since the 1940s, typically with a cup of coffee. There are two theories concerning its name; the first one states that it comes from the East-West Road in Warsaw (Polish: Trasa Wschód-Zachód or W-Z). The second theory says that its original name was a cake with cream (Polish: Wypiek Z Kremem), and it got acronymised to WZK.

Wafle consist of layers of wafers with various fillings: kajmak (dulce de leche), chocolate, jam, etc. They’re known under a German name piszinger in the south of Poland (the former territories of the Austrian rule). Since their preparation is simple and quick, they are very often served as sweet snacks across the country.
